IDMUF

The discussion forum for users of Fair
Isaac’s Debt Manager product to network,
share knowledge and best practice

Independent Debt Manager User Forum

The idea for the Independent Debt Manager User Forum (IDMUF) arose in discussions with some of Arum’s customers and from there it was further developed through open discussion at a 2006 Debt Manager Seminar. The first IDMUF event took place in 2006 with just a few delegates and with membership now at over twenty organisations each event is proving to be bigger than the last with over 80 delegates at the last event in Chester.

The aims of the Independent Debt Manager User Forum (IDMUF) are straightforward. It should provide -

  • a discussion forum for Debt Manager users where they can share knowledge and best practice
  • networking opportunities for users
  • a chance for users to hear from industry ‘thought leaders’
  • opportunities for Fair Isaac to communicate with customers en masse and to gain useful feedback from them, for example, on topics such as enhancements

As emphasised in its name, IDMUF is an independent membership-based body with its focus on best practice rather than sales, so there is no call for Confidentially Agreements within the forum. Business and technical discussions are welcomed and members of the forum gain most from active participation. Members also get a chance to meet around twice a year at events that take place at rotating venues with Fair Isaac as an invited speaker or contributor.

The IDMUF Steering Group was created to promote the forum as well as directing it and making key decisions affecting it. This group sets the forum agendas and directly organises the events, inviting speakers and seeking sponsors. "The IDMUF Steering Group was created to promote the forum as well as directing it and making key decisions affecting it. Chaired by Malcolm Collett of Arum, this group sets the forum agendas and directly organises the events, inviting speakers and seeking sponsors."

Membership is open to any Debt Manager user and to other individuals if approved by the Steering Group. There is a membership fee of GBP300 (EUR450) for which members are entitled to use IDMUF’s branding, get access to the online discussion forum and to a basic ‘dating service’ between members, all of these administered by Arum.

Malcolm Collett, Chairman of IDMUF Steering Group:

“The Forum will only continue to be successful however if more organisations join and are prepared to contribute by attending the Forum Events, by contributing to discussions with other Users, using the Online Forum and in the future maybe making a presentation at an Event themselves, hosting an event or identifying event sponsors.

“If you are not yet an IDMUF Member please do give serious thought to joining as I am sure you would gain significant benefits. If you need more information or would like to join please do not hesitate to contact me at idmuf@arum.co.uk.”
